Support for Mortgage Interest (SMI) payments

From 6th April 2018 Support for Mortgage Interest payments (SMI) became a loan instead of a benefit. If you have been claiming SMI you will receive a letter inviting you to apply for a loan.

The loan will be repayable when you return to work or if you sell your home. For more information see Help to pay your mortgage.
